Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Location: Piazza Farnese, 00186 Roma RM
  • Start Time: 9:30 AM
  • Includes: Campo de’ Fiori market tour, Professional chef, Lunch, Wine included, Recipes will be emailed

Starting things off on the right foot is the most comprehensive classes of its kind, creating an unforgettable culinary journey for everyone involved.

You’ll not only partake in an educational cooking class, you’ll be led by a seasoned professional chef, with an interactive atmosphere and invaluable hands-on experience.

The Chef in a Day – Cooking Classes in Rome Tour will leave you with the knowledge and skills to make a delicious, authentically Italian 6-course meal, complete with dessert and wine!

Kicking off at 9:30 am, I find this to be the perfect time to start as the first stop is at the legendary Campo de’ Fiori market and you avoid most of the crowds in the morning.

This valuable glimpse into the local life showcases the market as its best, with colorful stalls offering up the freshest seasonal produce, herbs, spices, veggies, meats, cheeses, and more! We got to actually help our guide pick the veggies, cheese, and meat that we were to use in our meal later on.

After gathering what we needed, we headed to a beautiful, open-plan apartment in the center of the city’s Trastevere district where we gathered ’round to listen to our professional chef guide’s instructions on how to start prepping the ingredients.

This part is completely hands-on, and we even learned how to make pasta from scratch, make the sauces, as well as properly present each dish. We made a stuffed, long, and short-medium pasta along with 3 different sauces, a veggie side dish, and a mouthwatering dessert!

After our hard work and fun learning, we all sat down in the dining area to enjoy the 6-course feast we had prepared alongside a fine selection of national wines.

It was not only a great way to learn about cooking Italian cuisine, but to also make new friends from around the world! I’ll make sure to apply the recipes we brought with us anytime I’m entertaining guests I really want to impress!

2. Private Cooking Class in Rome with Chef Andrea Consoli

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 4 hours
  • Location: Via dei Fienaroli, 5, 00153 Roma RM
  • Start Time: 5:00 PM
  • Includes: Alcoholic beverages, dinner, bottled water

If the last class sounds like fun to you but you’re looking for something just a bit more condensed, the Private Cooking Class in Rome with Chef Andrea Consoli is right up your alley.

This class will take you through a hands-on experience in order to make a delicious 4-course, authentic Roman meal with all the reasoning and prep behind it so you really get an idea why they do what they do.

This is a fun experience for any age or background, so don’t hesitate to ask questions and jump right in! This class has only 1 start time, which is at 5 pm, so if you’re looking for a great alternative to just heading out to a restaurant for dinner, this is it.

In fact, I’d say that the meal that we whipped up was tastier than the majority of the restaurant meals I’d had in Rome! Thanks to the private group setting, I felt comfortable asking questions and really got personalized attention from our professional chef who guided us through every step.

The main difference between this class and the first is that we did not go to the market to select and gather our ingredients beforehand. We arrived at the kitchen, and the chef already had all of the ingredients ready for us to start prepping.

We were all given tasks, working from scratch as our guide offered interesting anecdotes and tips regarding Roman culture and cooking!

After we prepared our 4-course meal, we all headed to the dining area to relax and dive into each delicious dish! Perfectly paired with Italian wines, it was so much fun to sit around the table, enjoying amazing food with the satisfaction that we’d made it all, ourselves!

They were so thoughtful, they even emailed us recipes afterward, so we can continue refining our skills at home.

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Location: Supplied when booking
  • Start Time: 6:30 PM

When I saw this next class, I thought, “Wow, we’re going to learn how to make some of my all-time favorite Italian dishes!”. However, what we received was so much more than instruction on how to put together these thoughtful plates of tasty food.

The Bruschetta, Fettuccine, Gnocchi, Tiramisù Cooking Class in Rome is my top pick for a whole-family activity, with an engaging guide who knows exactly how to get kids excited and engaged!

I learned more in these few hours than I had in years reading recipes online of supposedly “authentic” Italian dishes – boy, was I corrected in this class! Our professional chef guide was warm and welcoming, and happy to show us the right way to make certain dishes.

We prepared a four-course meal, skipping the visit to the market to focus on correct technique and detailed instruction from our guide. We started our making the bruschetta, which was surprisingly easy using homemade bread, extra virgin olive oil, fresh tomatoes, and basil.

I was super excited to learn how to make tiramisù and this was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! The egg pasta and potato gnocchi was also delicious, though it took me a bit more practice and attention to really learn how to make them right.

After making the sauces, we were ready to gather our finished dishes and take them outside on the chef’s porch to enjoy our dinner in a breathtakingly charming Italian garden complete with olive trees.

This was a magical evening that I’d recommend to anyone – especially if you have always wanted to get better at cooking pasta! This was probably the best meal we had during our time in Rome, which is really saying something!

4. 3 in 1 Cooking Class Piazza Navona: Fettuccine Ravioli and Tiramisu

Tour Highlights:

  • Location: Via Giuseppe Zanardelli, 14, 00186 Roma RM
  • Start Time: Between 10:30 AM and 5:30 PM
  • Includes: Dinner, bottled water, alcoholic beverages

This class is one of the most quintessential Italian activities I could think to partake in, and it’s located conveniently right next to Piazza Navona. I was super curious about different instructors’ different techniques in making tiramisu, and I’m obsessed with fettuccine and ravioli.

It only made sense to take the 3 in 1 Cooking Class Piazza Navona: Fettuccine Ravioli and Tiramisu tour! This class started off quite different from the others, as the others took place in more of a private setting, like the chef’s home or kitchen.

This one, interestingly enough, took place right inside a local restaurant located in the center of Rome. It was very easy to get to and was cool to see that the dishes we were about to make were right on the restaurant’s menu.

Upon arrival, our guide (also a chef who works in the restaurant) was there to warmly greet us and give us a bit of background on the restaurant and his experience.

Our group was very small, which almost made it feel like I was learning from a longtime friend. The menu consisted of fettuccine, ravioli with butter and sage, tiramisu, wine, and their famous limoncello or Italian coffee!

This was such a fun time sitting down and trying the dishes we made together, connecting with travelers from around the world and learning so much from our guide!

The recipes were surprisingly simple and the way our chef explained things to us just made so much sense. This is a fantastic value for the money, with patient staff and a beautiful learning environment.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t that obsessed with fettuccine before taking this class, but the rest of my party is in love with it. However, after learning how to make it the right way, my opinion definitely changed!

The Pasta Class in Rome – Fettuccine Cooking Classes in Piazza Navona is the best place to learn how to make the iconic Italian dish, with a professional chef there to guide you!

I’d also recommend this class if you’re looking for quite possibly the shortest cooking experience here in Rome, making it very easy to fit into This one is very similar to the prior class, as it takes place in the same restaurant, though this one focuses just on fettuccine.

I absolutely loved the view from the kitchen, which overlooks the gorgeous Piazza Navona right in the center of Rome. I’d say this is the “biggest bang for your buck” class, as it’s super affordable while still providing amazing insight into the local culinary scene, as well as authentic Italian cooking practices you can take with you anywhere.

Our chef was very nice and patient, answering any questions we had with grace and not making us feel intimidated in any way. The welcome glass of Prosecco and complementary appetizers didn’t hurt either!

All of us learned together to create our own dish of fresh pasta from scratch, while teaching us some very valuable tips and background knowledge about Rome and its culinary traditions.

We were offered the choice of many different sauces as well, which was interesting to try, as previously I’d only had fettuccine with one type of sauce. For a super cool Roman experience that makes you feel at home, this is just the ticket.

With hands-on learning, you’ll be right there under the guidance of a friendly, skilled chef who will teach you about the intricacies of pasta-making from start to finish.

Making the perfect pasta dough isn’t all that easy, but our guide made it much simpler with clear instructions. The intimate setting with a small group sized also allowed for personalized attention, so we were all able to ask questions if we had any doubts.

After preparing the delicious pasta we crafted from scratch, we all gathered around the table with some wine to enjoy the food and each other’s company.

As this took place in our chef’s home, it was very cozy and felt nice to be welcomed into a local’s home like this. The dishes were paired with both a red and a white wine, so there really was something for everybody.

Even if you aren’t particularly into cooking, this class offers insight into Italian culture and gastronomy in a way few other classes do. We learned all about the significance of pasta (hint: it’s very important!) in Italian cuisine and the role it plays in the country’s culinary heritage.

Not to mention, we were able to step away from the more touristy areas of the city and take this class in Rome’s Testaccio neighborhood which is very traditional and charming.

7. Pizza Class in Rome – Cooking Classes around Piazza Navona

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Location: Piazza di Pasquino, 1, 00186 Roma RM
  • Start Time: 11:00 AM, 3:00 & 5:00 PM
  • Includes: Coffee and/or tea, bottled water, alcoholic beverages

If I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, the answer would likely be pizza. I absolutely love pizza, so getting the opportunity to learn the secrets of crafting the perfect pie in Rome sounded amazing.

The Pizza Class in Rome – Cooking Classes around Piazza Navona was even better than I expected, with a hands-on culinary experience that took me through all the flavors and techniques of authentic Italian pizza-making!

This was also another intimate setting in a Roman restaurant where we received personalized attention in a small group, allowing us to really have access to feedback and many helpful tips about techniques throughout.

One thing I should mention is that this is a very popular class and limited availability, so I recommend booking to secure you’re spot if you’re interested in pizza-making! It is a 2-hour class as well, which is easy to fit into just about any schedule.

We started out by learning how to make the dough, preparing it along with traditional Italian toppings as our chef guided us and gave us some helpful tips.

We were each able to pick the classic pizza we wanted to make, which was pretty cool, too. The view from the Osteria Pasquino is incredible as well, and it turns out it’s one of the most popular restaurants in the city center!

After our pizzas were done baking, we then were seated at the osteria as the waiters came to give us water, complementary Prosecco, beer, and/or soda along with plenty of tasty appetizers! We had bruschetta, along with a limoncello or Italian coffee after we finished the pizzas.

I have to say it was one of the most exciting classes I’d taken in Rome, and now I know how to make authentic pizza!
