Barcelona Bike Tour Reviews

1. Barcelona E-Bike Small Group Tour with Tapas & Wine Tasting

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 3.5 hours
  • Departure: Plaça de Sant Agustí Vell, 16, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona
  • Departure Time: 4:00 PM
  • Includes: Small Group Tour, Local Professional guide, Glass of Champagne, Wine tasting, Food tasting, All Fees and Taxes

Starting things off on the right foot, is the Barcelona E-Bike Small Group Tour with Tapas & Wine Tasting, which is a fantastic introduction to some of the very best the city has to offer.

This 3.5-hour experience is the perfect way to spend an evening, melding a city tour with a bit of a feast, along with some daydreaming while rolling through the stunning alleyways and boulevards.

Check out the architectural eccentricity of Gaudi, zip through El Born’s tangled streets, and even spot some Mediterranean vistas as it meets the edge of the Gothic Quarter, all with an expert guide at the helm.

Start out at 4:00 pm by meeting your guide and the rest of your small group in central Barcelona, getting paired with a comfy electric bike, and learning how to operate it. If you’re not feeling confident with your cycling endurance, there’s no need to worry as e-bikes are SO much easier!

Thanks to the electric motor, very little effort is required to move the bike, which ultimately feels like you’re just gliding over the ground and lets you place your focus more on the tour at hand.

Thanks to the small group size, it was really intimate and easy to hear our guide, even as we were pedaling along the slightly busier streets. We started out venturing through El Born, learning about their Centre de Cultura i Memoria located in an incredible 19th-century market that’s a gem for any architecture nerd.

Our guide accompanied our explorations with commentary about what daily life was like during the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714, which I admittedly knew nothing about prior to this tour.

Next up is the Parlament de Catalunya and the Parc de la Ciutadella – both of which show off the grandeza of Barcelona, both in manmade and natural beauty.

One of my favorite parts was getting to see and learn about the seaside Port Olimpic and La Barceloneta, along with Port Vell – each section offering a different background to dive into. This tour was a ton of fun and perfect for solo travelers, couples, and even friend groups or entire families.

Barcelona is one of those cities that I suggest exploring slowly – however, there’s certainly a lot to uncover, so e-bikes can definitely help out in that regard.

The Barcelona e-Bike Gaudi Highlights or Bohemian Neighborhoods Small Group Tour is the perfect way to see some of Gaudi’s most iconic works just as well as some of the famed Bohemian spots.

You get to choose between 2 different itineraries with different start times, all depending on your specific interests, making it that much more personalized and memorable!

Our guides were super friendly and fun, from the time that we went and picked up our e-bike and helmet, so we knew we were in for a good time. This is yet again another small-group tour, no matter which itinerary you choose, so count on great chats about life in Barcelona relating back to your schedule’s main subject.

You’ll start off in the breathtaking Gothic Quarter,  known for its iconic serpentlike streets, courtyards, and architecture like the Barcelona Cathedral.

Learn about the interesting food market history of El Born Centre de Cultura I Memoria, and take in the incredible beauty and stories of the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, and you’ll learn that even the apostle James is said to have preached there!

Check out other notable places like Port Olimpic, La Sagrada Familia, La Padrera, and so much more, all with your guide to accompany you with expert commentary!

This was such a fun and educational experience – so much so that the virtual mountain of information we learned was filled with so many gems I doubt it’s something you could get from a history book.

The other travelers in our group were also super friendly and enjoyable, and our tour ended up feeling like we were just a longtime friend group!

3. Barcelona eBike Small Group Tour with entrance to Sagrada Familia

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 3.5 hours
  • Departure: Plaça de Sant Agustí Vell, 16, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona
  • Departure Time: 11:00 AM
  • Includes: Small group, Sagrada Familia admission ticket, bottle of water, professional guide

If you have the morning free and have just arrived in the city, the Barcelona eBike Small Group Tour with Entrance to Sagrada Familia is one of the best choices.

I believe that the best way to explore a city is in the open air, on street level, smelling, hearing, and perceiving all the sights that surround you. Melding urban adventure combined with architectural history and appreciation, all without requiring you to take things literally step-by-step.

You’ll start out in the city center, where you’ll get fitted with a top-notch, well-maintained e-bike along with all necessary safety equipment. Before you set off, you’ll receive instruction on how to use your e-bike, and can even do a few practice runs before heading into the hustle and bustle of Barcelona.

The electric motor makes for a super smooth ride, where you won’t even break a sweat pedaling through your 3-hour tour. Just like most others, your adventure starts out in the Gothic Quarter, which is the majestic, dramatic neighborhood that’s been here since the very beginning of the city.

Your guide is friendly and does a great job of storytelling, bringing centuries-old scenes to life as you soak it all in. You’ll see Barcelona Cathedral’s gargoyles, elaborate carvings, and all the other details that all seem to have their own significance.

You’ll see plenty of other famed structures and locations, like the Arc de Triomf, La Monumental Bullring, and even the serene beauty of the Parc de la Ciutadella (a nice respite in the business of the metropolis that surrounds it).

Of course, there’s no forgetting La Sagrada Familia – an incredibly unique structure that sets itself apart from quite literally every other building in the entire world. With priority access, there’s no need to sit in long queues – simply head right in for a guided tour and even some free time to explore the gorgeous architecture at your own leisure.

Afterward, you’ll have some time to absorb everything you’ve experienced while casually gliding around some other landmarks and taking photos without rush.

4. Barcelona City Bike Tour: Highlights and Hidden Gems

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Departure: Plaça Reial, Pl. Reial, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona
  • Departure Time: 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM
  • Includes: Use of bike, guide, bike rental and guide, child seat, helmet (optional)

I don’t know about you, but I personally take every chance I can get to smell that unmistakable smell of churros – and a bus tour isn’t going to get you there. A walking tour is always welcome, but if you’re really looking to cover as much ground as possible while still connecting to your surroundings, an e-bike tour is the way to go.

The Barcelona City Bike Tour: Highlights and Hidden Gems will take you right into the heart of the city – not only location-wise but also culture. The great thing about this tour is that it’s largely flat terrain and large bike paths, making it one of the best cities I’ve done a bike tour in.

I’ll admit that the majority of bike tours focus more on the big tourist sites, but if you’d like to uncover the good, eccentric, and fun, this is the one. Our guide took us to so many incredible hidden gems, through side alleys, and more importantly – gave us insight into what life is really like in this special city.

We met our guide in Placa Reial, where we got our e-bikes and helmets (and child seats if anyone needs them), with our guide instructing us on how to operate them. By now I was a pro, and we all set off through the Gothic Quarter, El Born, and later on, the vibey Barceloneta.

Our guide was super cool with us, showing us some of the more “hidden” hot spots that I truly never would’ve known about if not for him.

Whether you’re a first-timer or it’s your twentieth time in Barcelona, this is the perfect crash course to give you not only a lay of the land but a true look into authentic local life.

5. Barcelona E-Bike Tour: Montjuic Hill and Gothic Quarter

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Departure: Passeig de Lluís Companys, 10, Ciutat Vella, 08018 Barcelona
  • Departure Time: 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM
  • Includes: Professional guide, bike rental and helmet, insurance, bottled water

Barcelona is so much more than what meets the eye – not to say that La Rambla, La Barceloneta, and Park Güell aren’t worth seeing, because they absolutely are.

However, the city has many layers, and many of them offer amazing stories, breathtaking views, and perhaps a different, more “authentic” local vibe that many tourists miss out on. The Barcelona E-Bike Tour: Montjuic Hill and Gothic Quarter is perfect for history buffs, architecture nerds, and everyone in between.

With plenty of different start times available, it’s one of the best tours to take if you have a busy itinerary already. We met up with him and the rest of our small group at the bike shop, getting matched with a bike that was comfortable for each of us.

The bike rental included all insurance and safety gear, which is always a stress reliever when abroad. We headed up, over, and around Montjuïc, that green hill with a rather heavy past through some of the best views around.

You’ll cruise past Olympic ruins, forgotten forts, shady gardens, and quiet corners that no other tour covered like this. Our guide took plenty of breaks throughout for us to really listen to the historical stories in depth while taking photos for great mementos.

We talked about dictatorships, revolutions, wars, art, the Olympics, along with plenty of street-level anecdotes that bring the city to life. One of the best moments of the tour was cruising along the coastline, riding all the way to the Bellver Castle.

Overall, I’d recommend this tour for families with kids due to the way the tour is structured, along with the fantastic tour guide commentaries!
