The Blue Cave and Hvar Tour – 5 Islands Tour from Split and Trogir has become one of the most renowned Adriatic day trips for travelers wanting to see Croatia’s most iconic coastal highlights in one single excursion.

Fast-paced, scenic, and highly photogenic, this tour combines dramatic natural attractions with beautiful island stops that show off the variation within Dalmatia’s coastline.

This is an all-day experience, so make sure you’re ready with good walking shoes, swimwear, and sunglasses. They’ll provide you with waterproof jackets on board, so you don’t have to worry about that aspect, which makes things a bit easier. Your tour starts in the morning, so plan accordingly.

The highlight of the experience for me was the Blue Cave on Biševo Island, practically glowing with an electric blue light that feels almost surreal.

It’s one of Croatia’s most famous natural attractions for a good reason, and getting there by speedboat makes you feel like you’re in some kind of James Bond film. Just keep in mind that wait times can be a bit longer during the summer months, and depend heavily on sea conditions and crowds.

Aside from the cave, checking out the Venetian architecture, luxury yacht views, and a fun Mediterranean vibe in Hvar was super fun. We had time to wander around the old town, enjoy lunch, or even climb toward the fortress viewpoints overlooking the harbor.

The extra island stops were a blast, with plenty of swim breaks in secluded bays’ clear water, with snorkeling gear included. Whether you’re a complete newbie to Croatia or just want to see another side of Split, this is an unforgettable choice for fitting in various Adriatic highlights efficiently without zooming through the day.

2. Blue Lagoon & 3 Islands Small-Group Speedboat Tour

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 5.5 hours
  • Departure: Trumbićeva obala 2, 21000, Split
  • Departure Time: 8:30 AM, 2:30 PM
  • Includes: Boat ride, pro crew, small group experience with a max of 12 people per boat, use of snorkeling gear, wi-fi on board

If you don’t have an entire day to spare in your schedule or you simply don’t want to commit to a full-day tour, I have just the solution for you.

The Blue Lagoon & 3 Islands Small-Group Speedboat Tour does a great job of combining the thrill of a speedboat with the relaxation that inherently comes from being around the Adriatic Sea.

Focusing on the area’s iconic crystal-clear water, laidback island stops, and a more languid coastal vibe, it feels like everything the Mediterranean should be.

Clocking in at around 5.5 hours, it’s just the right amount of time to get an idea of what life is like outside Split. There are a few different start times available, which also makes it that much easier to fit into a busy day.

With a max of just 12 people allowed on each boat, you’ll also benefit from the exclusivity of a small-group vibe with more access to your guide and the environment around you.

The star attraction is undoubtedly the Blue Lagoon by Drvenik Veli, which is a shallow turquoise bay famous for calm water and some of the best swimming conditions around. Though I’d seen some incredibly vivid photos of the lagoon beforehand, it actually exceeded expectations in person – something that doesn’t happen often.

We had the chance to go snorkeling (all gear included), and if you’ve never gone snorkeling before, I found that the professional crew did a great job of helping newbies learn basic skills and get comfortable.

Stops include charming fishing village communities where stone houses, small boats, and waterfront cafes create postcard-esque vibes that are unmatched!

As the experience focuses largely on water activities, weather conditions will obviously play a big role, but that’s usually not anything to worry about. If you’re on the hunt for a scenic, easygoing day on the Adriatic, this is one of the best selections.

3. Blue Cave & Hvar, 5 Islands Speed Boat Tour with Unique Boats from Split

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 10 to 11 hours
  • Departure: Republic Square, Prokurative, 21000, Split
  • Departure Time: 7:00 AM

Next up is the Blue Cave & Hvar, 5 Islands Speed Boat Tour with Unique Boats from Split experience, which is perfect if you’re short on time or a first-time visitor to Croatia.

If you’ve wanted to go island hopping but don’t know where to start, this is a seamless option designed to let you relax and focus on all of the beauty around you – no logistics planning needed.

If you like the idea of sleek speedboats, open-sea cruising, and a slightly more “luxe” atmosphere, this isn’t one to pass up. Your day starts out at 7:00 am, which is a bit early, so make sure you have everything ready to go the night before.

If you’re into history and architecture just as much as the activities themselves, you’re going to love this one. Our guide was one of the best around, offering fascinating insight into the history of each island and town we stopped in. This easily made it more interesting than 99% of boat tours out there!

The speedboat was a ton of fun, with plenty of comfortable seating and room to move around, and we even had control of the Bluetooth music on board. Of course, our skipper had such fantastic playlists that that was completely unnecessary!

Due to the weather conditions we weren’t able to see the Blue Cave, but we got to see plenty of others that were beautiful and interesting all on their own. We also got to snorkel, seeing reefs, starfish, little crabs, fish, and so much more.

I loved the stop at Komiza, where we got to see where they filmed Mamma Mia, grab a delicious coffee and breakfast, and take photos. The islands were a ton of fun, but going to Hvar is always something special to me.

The harbour is gorgeous, the history lessons here are rich and fascinating, and the architecture and seas are breathtaking. Lunch here was delicious and the perfect way to wrap up the day.

4. Exclusive Blue Lagoon Luxury Boat Tour from Split

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Departure: Trumbićeva obala 18, 21000, Split
  • Departure Time: 7:00 AM
  • Includes: Bottled water, use of snorkeling gear, guide, and transportation

The Exclusive Blue Lagoon Luxury Boat Tour from Split is a one-of-a-kind experience for those who value authenticity and locals who want to show you the “real” side of a place.

Rather than focusing on big crowds, money-making at every turn, and fast-paced sightseeing, this tour opts for comfort, personalization, and actually savoring Croatia’s coastline. There’s a lot to see and do, and you can count on guides who know the area like the back of their hands.

This tour is a bit shorter than the others in this guide, which makes it perfect if you already have a busy day. Our guides were flexible about our start times and did everything they could to help accommodate us.

I personally would say that if you’re celebrating honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, or other special occasions, this tour is one of the best options due to how exclusive it feels.

I’m grateful that our tour didn’t get canceled, as this day it ended up just being two friends and me, so we had the boat and guides all to ourselves.

The luxury boat was extremely comfortable, with plenty of time to relax on the deck, soak in the coastal views, and learn all about the area’s history and culture at a natural pace. One of our guides even offered us refreshment, homemade cookies, and mojitos, so that obviously amplified my happiness, all around!

We had an amazing time exploring the charming little town of Trogir, where we got around an hour of leisure time to explore as we saw best, as well as a brief walking introduction and photo ops.

In Blue Lagoon, we had the chance to go for a dip or snorkel without any crowds around, which was a nice respite from the bustling Split. Overall, if you’re looking for a more stylish Croatia boat tour with a more intimate atmosphere, this luxury Blue Lagoon tour is one of the most comfy options.

5. From Split: Blue Lagoon and 3 Islands Speedboat Tour

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Departure: Marulićeva ul. 4, 21000, Split
  • Departure Time: 8:30 AM, 2:00 PM
  • Includes: Speedboat tour, Snorkeling equipment (goggles), Safety equipment, Water, Guide

Last but certainly not least is the From Split: Blue Lagoon and 3 Islands Speedboat Tour, which is another top choice for those short on time.

The 5-hour excursion does a great job of fitting in swimming, sightseeing, and island exploration without committing to an all-day adventure or rushing through things. It’s a versatile tour that’s perfect if it’s your first time in the area, or for families and travelers who want to see it all.

There was a good amount of flexibility when it came to our start time, which further facilitated our schedule. Our guide was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and it felt like we’d known each other forever right from the very beginning.

We boarded the speedboat, which was sleek and comfortable, with padded seats and plenty of room to move around and enjoy the scenery surrounding us. Along the way, our guide regaled us with educational commentary about the culture, geology, and history as we passed different landmarks.

The Blue Lagoon is the highlight for most, with its calm turquoise waters and protected setting, where you’ll have time to swim and snorkel around. They had snorkeling equipment for our use, and I did appreciate how clean and well-maintained everything was.

Thanks to the smaller size of our boat, we had access to hidden coves and calmer coastal areas that are practically impossible with the larger ferry-style tours.

We had 8 other people with us, which not only made it more fun and friendly, but also allowed us to ask all of the questions we had without competing for attention. Each location was a blast, and I had a great time at the beach club, with the amazing water vistas and the delicious drinks!

We perfectly wrapped things up in the charming Trogir, learning about how it was founded all the way back in the 3rd-century BC, with its insane mix of Renaissance, Baroque, and Romanesque architecture! It’s no wonder why it’s called “The Stone Beauty”.
