The 4 Top London Pubs For Whiskey Lovers

Whatever the occasion, London is a fantastic city to sip the night away with one of the world’s tastiest whiskies. In fact, the only bad news is that you may find yourself spoilt for choice! Fortunately, the good news is we’ve rounded up London’s best whisky spots for you to visit whenever you get the chance.

Milroy’s Of Soho/The Vault Of Soho

Milroy’s is one of the most famous Whisky names in London, establishing themselves in 1964 and going on to become a renowned e-commerce brand to go alongside their flagship London store.

The spot was recently refurbished and rebranded as 3 Greek Street where you can pick up premium whiskies and even treat yourself to the whole whisky tasting experience.

Alternatively, head downstairs to the store’s cocktail bar, The Vault Of Soho, which you’ll enter through a bookcase before being greeted by one of London’s most secluded whisky spots. All in all, a fantastic date night spot if you are a whisky-drinking couple.

Black Rock

We’re not sure if Black Rock is a pub, a bar or simply an experience! Whatever it is, it’s a must-visit for whisky connoisseurs when in London as it’s one of the most unique drinking spots. You’ll find over 350 whiskies stashed away in their magnificent cabinets but rather than ordering at the bar, you can simply help yourself.

If that didn’t make the place unique enough, the intimate bar also has a long tree trunk running through the centre because who needs tables?! Black Rock is located in the lively area of Shoreditch located in the East of London.

Boisdale

If you want the atmosphere to match the whisky, Boisdale should be top of your list. The original Boisdale is located in Belgravia where you can enjoy over 1,000 bottles of whisky.

To accompany your whisky drinking, you can sample the finest cigars and indulge in premium steaks. The eatery also regularly has live jazz music to create the perfect vibe.

As for the interior, picture tartan, portraits, and anything else that screams Scotland. While the bar may be located in Central London, you can definitely feel Boisdale’s Scottish roots roaring throughout the venue which makes it a fantastic whisky spot.

The Dog and Bell

Lastly, but by no means least, is The Dog and Bell. While this pub offers a fantastic selection of whisky (as you’d expect from an Irish-owned pub), this is only one of many reasons to visit. If you are a fan of a traditional Irish pub, you’ll love The Dog and Bell.

The establishment’s unmissable red decor looks like it belongs in Dublin rather than Deptford while the cozy interior provides the perfect place to sample one of many whiskeys on offer.

Finally, but most importantly, sample these venues responsibly. London has one of the most vibrant nightlife experiences in Europe. If you are tempted to stay out long into the night, plan to get home safely beforehand by using London’s public transport network or taking advantage of one of the many city centre car parks.
