I’ve seen Rome so many times, that I knew I didn’t want to just see the regular tourist sites for my next tour – I wanted to see the hidden gems that only locals know about!

There is a more affordable option that is not the private tour, in which you still partake in a small group but don’t get to plan the itinerary.
The only other difference between the two is that with the private tour option, they will come pick you right up from your hotel instead of using a meetup point in central Rome.

It was much more enriching than simply checking off different sites and learning the cookie-cutter information associated with each one. It’s hard to believe, but I even found the routes that he took to be relaxing, as the backstreets were so quiet and calm.
One of my favorite stops was at the Spanish Steps, which sit between the Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinita dei Monti, along with the impressive church at the top, overlooking it all.
Palatine Hill was also really cool to see and learn about, and our guide did a great job explaining the ancient parts and how it was essentially the beginning of all the Roman Empire.
So much knowledge shared, such a different perspective on Rome – I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone who really wants to learn.
