If you’re looking to explore beyond your hotel or resort, the Adventure Bundle: Monkeyland, Ziplines, and Buggies in Punta Cana is a fantastic choice. You get a full, immersive look into the local wildlife, off-road fun, and pure adrenaline, all packed neatly into one, well-organized experience.

No need to choose between any of the activities, nor worry about transportation, as they have that covered, too. There are a few different start times to choose from, though it’ll always start in the morning, as this is a full-day tour.

Start out with your guide/driver collecting you and the rest of your group at your hotel (or another agreed-upon meetup point that works for you) and set off for your first stop: Monkeyland. I have to admit that this was my first time there and I had no idea what to expect, but as soon as we left, I was already missing those cute, sweet monkeys!

The zip line tour was a ton of fun as well, and everyone at the center was certified, clearly placing special attention to our safety throughout the experience. It was a great way to see the jungle, and there were different levels, from beginner to advanced.

We even got to visit a coconut house to see how coconut oil is made, with plenty of delicious tastings afterward! Plan on learning a lot about the DR and its unique history, too! The entire day was very well-organized and seamless, which would’ve been virtually impossible to orchestrate if we were left to our own devices and booked everything ourselves.

Not to mention, our guides were super friendly and high-energy, which made it that much more enjoyable. I’d recommend this tour to anyone of any age and background, because it’s that good!

If you don’t have the time or just don’t want to commit to a full-day tour, I have the perfect alternative for you. The Punta Cana Zipline Adventure with Buggies and Horseback Riding is a half-day experience full of nature adventures and good times.

From gliding through lush jungles to galloping through breathtaking scenery, you’re about to set off on a well-organized experience that’s sure to elevate your trip instantly. There are a few different start times available, no matter which day you book your tour for.

I greatly appreciated the included hotel pickup, so we didn’t have to deal with booking separate transport or finding a meetup spot. Our guides were great, offering up a wonderful intro and plenty of educational commentary along the way, with our destination being the Hacienda Tuko adventure park.

The great thing about the park is that you have zipline courses, dune buggies, horses, and more, all right there – no need to waste time traveling between different locations! Upon arrival, we were suited up and received instructions on how to go ziplining, which is perfect even for absolute newbies.

The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and it was wonderful not only getting to see it from the treetops, but down on the ground, too. Our horse ride was so beautiful and serene, and the horses were clearly very well taken care of.

We made some extra stops for cigars, coffee, chocolate, and other fun stuff before doing our short buggie ride. I definitely recommend bringing along sunscreen and sunglasses, along with some great walking shoes, but all in all, it’s an experience everyone should have!

3. Monkeyland and Plantation Safari Tour from Punta Cana

Tour Highlights:

  • Duration: 6 hours
  • Departure: Hotel pickup and drop-off included
  • Departure Time: 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM
  • Includes: Monkey sanctuary visit, visit coffee plantation and sample local coffee, bottled water, guided tour, transportation

Perhaps you’re leaning towards a Punta Cana tour that leans more immersive than adrenaline-fueled. If that’s the case, the Monkeyland and Plantation Safari Tour from Punta Cana is a great change of pace, focusing on nature, culture, and respectful animal interaction and learning.

It’s a bit more relaxed and engaging on the education front, making it a fantastic option for couples, families, or anyone looking for more grounded insight. Our tour kicked off with a convenient pickup right from our hotel, with our friendly guide there to answer all of our questions and provide fascinating commentary right from the start.

Our transportation was very comfortable, and they even had bottled water for us. As we left quite early in the morning, we missed traffic and made it to the Dominican country plantation quite quickly!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by local farmers, who kindly shared with us stories about their organic farming processes, the way they cultivate crops like cacao, coffee, and more.

Of course, we also got to try some fresh coffee (and hot chocolate for those who preferred), and had the chance to purchase some of their fresh goods to take home with us before making our way to Monkeyland.

We were there a brief time, but it was enough to get to feed and observe the fascinating creatures, and even visit a botanical garden full of unique plants and flowers. Throughout the tour, there are so many opportunities to see amazing points of interest while learning all about them from your guide.

  • Departure Time: 6:30 AM
  • Includes: Snacks, Buffet lunch (BBQ, salad and typical Dominican fare), Beer, rum and soft drinks (open bar), 30-minute stop at the biggest natural swimming pool, 3 hours at the Saona Island

If you’re picturing the kind of Caribbean day that feels like you’ve just stepped into a postcard, the Saona Island Day Trip from Punta Cana with Lunch and Open Bar is right up your alley. With powdery white sand, shallow turquoise waters, and swaying palm trees, it feels like a kind of fantasy brought to life – complete with expert local guides there to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.

This is easily one of the most iconic tours in the city, and it’s easy to see why. Things start off at the crack of dawn, but this way, you’re making the most of the day while avoiding the majority of crowds and traffic.

There’s no need to worry about dealing with meetup points or booking your own transport, as your guide will come right to your hotel lobby to get you and the rest of your group. The ride itself is breezy, relaxed, and scenic, with your guide there to offer educational commentary throughout.

One of the first highlights is typically a stop at a stunning natural pool with crystal clear waters, perfect for photos, and you’ll even get to see some adorable starfish! You’ll hop onboard a fun speedboat (honestly worth the trip itself!), and arrive at Saona Island shortly after.

Depending on the schedule, you may take a catamaran out either on the way there, or the way back. With seemingly endless beaches, calm water you can wade in for hours, and an overall laidback, charming atmosphere, it makes it feel like you’re frozen in time.

As if that wasn’t already amazing enough, you can take it upon yourself to enjoy tropical drinks from the open bar, and enjoy the buffet lunch consisting of traditional Dominican dishes.

The adventure kicks off with a safety briefing and quick orientation, then you’re off to ride around off-road on your ATVs over dusty trails, muddy paths, and rural backroads that show a side of Punta Cana the vast majority of guests never get to see.

We even got to visit a cenote, which was absolutely incredible, and a very welcome break from the heat! You can observe it in all its beauty, or even take a moment for a quick swim before making your way to Macao Beach.

This is one of Punta Cana’s most beautiful and less-developed beaches, which feels more “untouched” by humanity and perhaps even a bit more untamed. Here, it’s time to really kick back and relax, take photos, dip your toes in the ocean, or simply soak it all in.

Sometimes, all we need in life is a bit of a reset in order to let stress melt away and enjoy the present moment. If you ask me, one of the best ways to do that is by flying through the jungle canopy – preferably with a little bit of screaming sprinkled in.

If that sounds appealing to you at all, step up and enjoy the Dual Zipline Side-by-Side Adventure in Punta Cana! This 6-hour experience starts off with a convenient hotel pickup, so you and the rest of your party don’t have to figure out transportation on your own.

Our guides did a fantastic job at every step of the way, explaining techniques to us, how to stay safe, and overall just boosting our confidence and settling any nerves we may have had.

The course consisted of many different ziplines of differing lengths and heights, allowing you the chance to ease in before hitting the longer, speedier runs. Soar over treetops, valleys, water, and forest canopy, with views that’ll completely sweep away any bout of nervousness.

If you don’t want to commit to a full-day adventure but still want to enjoy things without rushing, this is a great option. It’s filled with thrills, making it a great choice for families, friend groups, couples, and even solo travelers.

  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM
  • Includes: Dominican Buffet Lunch ( Drinks are not included ), Helmets and safety equipment included, Water dispensers located all over the park, free to use, Safety Box, First Aid Assistance

Last but certainly not least, is the 7 Tours Punta Cana: Zipline, Chairlift, ATV, Ride Horses, & More tour! This tour does feel like a full-fledged adventure park day, without feeling like its dragging on nor like you’re being rushed.

However, it’s actually just 6 hours, so you still have time for other plans in the afternoon and evening! Just like with every other tour on this guide, this one starts off with you being picked up right from your hotel lobby by your guide.

Your transportation is spacious, air-conditioned, and comes with big windows for sightseeing without obstruction. Along the way, your guide is there to chat with you about the history of Punta Cana, and will answer any questions you may have.

We arrived relatively quickly at La Hacienda, which is a great break from the city, as it’s set in a lush, mountainous area away from the popular resort strip. Once you’re there, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff members and get all suited up with all necessary equipment.

You’ll rotate through a seamless, well-organized agenda of ziplining, buggies, horseback riding, safari-style sightseeing, and chairlift rides. The ziplining is definitely a highlight, as you get to see Mother Nature from a completely different perspective than most get the chance to experience.

The off-roading buggy ride was a ton of slightly messy fun, and the horseback riding was a great way to slow things down without letting boredom seep in. However, it really was the chairlift that set this tour apart from any other for me!
