As I regrettably don’t speak any Thai, for me, I do get a bit confused when ordering dishes I’m not already familiar with. This tour helped remedy that, with a friendly local foodie guide there to ensure we were all comfortable and knew exactly what we were ordering.
Our guide was phenomenal in answering all of our questions, and keeping extras like napkins and hand sanitizer at the ready throughout the day. I should warn you not to eat before your tour, as it seems almost impossible to eat and sample as many different dishes as we did on this tour.
We tasted around a whopping 20 different items, though they did do a good job of spacing things out for us so we didn’t feel overwhelmed. Expect to try everything from aromatic curries and spicy salads to indulgent desserts and tasty sweet drinks!
One of the most unique aspects to this food tour was getting to board the local water taxi and glide up to one of the city’s long canals next to their infamous waterways. You’ll hop off in one of the oldest districts afterward for a charming little tuk-tuk ride on your way to visit an old land market.

If you don’t know what to do on your first night in Bangkok, there are virtually endless possibilities – that can make things quite overwhelming!
However, the Bangkok Midnight Food Tuk Tuk Tour is one of the best options, with a fantastic food-tasting experience, a local guide to lead you through the city, and a fun tuk-tuk ride on top of it all. For the price, I really don’t think you can get any better than that!
Bangkok really transforms into a whole new world once the sun goes down and the sparkling lights illuminate the labyrinth-like streets lined with countless, delicious food stalls. The smell of incredible, freshly made food wafting through the air while you see famous Thai sights from a different perspective is truly magical!
While you can of course do this yourself, it doesn’t compare to having a well-versed local foodie there to lead you through the chaos and help show you things from an insider’s perspective.
We met up with our guide in the center which was super close to all of our hotels, making it particularly convenient for us without having to deal with public transportation.
We then hopped on one of the city’s famous “tuk-tuks” which was SO much fun and allowed us to cover more ground while our guide shared interesting stories about the different sights: temples, markets, sculptures, and more!
Along the way, we stopped to try some Guay Tiew Kua Gai noodles and snacks from the Northeastern part of the country while our guide shared the ingredients and how they’re made with us.
You can tell the people who created these itineraries are clearly locals who know what they’re talking about, offering a wide variety of foods to try and places to see. If you want that all-in-one sightseeing AND food-tasting experience with the added excitement of seeing the city at night, this should be at the top of your list.

If you’re on a time crunch or a budget crunch and want to make the most of your time in Bangkok, this next tour is for you. The Must-Try: Hidden Bangkok Bike and Food Tour is one of the most comprehensive tours I’ve ever been on that wasn’t a full-day experience.
While I think that the best way to explore the city is to really get out on the streets and connect with the sights and sounds of the city, walking isn’t always that efficient – this tour helps to solve that concern!
I also love recommending this tour to those who have already seen the main tourist sights in Bangkok and would like to go off that beaten path to explore more of the “hidden gems”.
With an expert local guide there to lead the way, you’ll see the nooks and crannies that most travelers don’t get the chance to see, or simply miss them completely because they weren’t on some “best of” list.
This tour was one of my favorites, as it was the first I felt made me feel that tangible sentiment of being a “local”, enjoying myself in spaces where only they seem to go.
Your tour starts off by meeting up with your guide and the rest of your small group at the bike shop, where you’ll be matched with your bike and where you can keep your baggage and luggage, should you need to.
They were super attentive in every way, ensuring our belongings were kept safe while offering us a nice welcome drink, bottled water, and even sunscreen!
We started off at the Princess Mother Memorial Park and Santa Cruz Church before stopping for some savory snacks and buttery noodles, fueling up before making out way to the Wat Kalayanamit Varamahavihara temple, where we learned a ton about local Buddhist views.
Taking the backstreets, this is easily one of the most immersive tours into the parts away from the main roads, connecting deeper with the people, food, and culture of Bangkok.
We even got to stop by a local family’s home for a genuine home-cooked, authentic Thai meal with these lovely people – and there’s still much more to see on this tour!

While our group was quite small, there were a couple of younger kids in our group that had a blast, with their attention on the subject matter the entire time.
For that reason and others, I’d suggest this group to you if you’re traveling with the entire family, just as well if you’re a solo traveler or going with a significant other.
We got to try iconic staples like tastebud-bursting green curry, sticky rice and curry, Thai coffee, and plenty of dishes I’d never tried before (do not miss out on the chive dumplings!)!
With a large focus on Chinatown, you’ll learn about and see many non-tourist spots while meeting locals and exploring new food options. If you’re ready to keep an open mind, check this one out!
