After walking around the lovely village, we had a surprise tasting of something aside from wine (don’t want to spoil the secret!) and then made our way to another typical village in Burgundy.
Here, we got to learn how their ancient grape varieties are grown, and what they taste like in their famous wines paired with delicious cheeses and cold cuts! After that, we took a well-deserved lunch break to fill up before trying the area’s amazing Pinot Noir wines – I couldn’t ask for a better day!

We went down into the old cellars for a tasting of an array of their Premier Cru wines, which were some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! The staff taught us how to correctly pair the wines with our meals, keeping us entertained and laughing the entire time.
As we headed back to Dijon, our guide even stopped in the fairytale-esque village of Gevrey-Chambertin for some photos and a lesson in its intriguing background!
